Carla Poindexter Show Opening at Gallery 500

The UCF Center for Emerging Media is pleased to announce Above the Planet Through a Microscope, an exhibit featuring the works of Carla Poindexter. This exhibit combines some of Carla’s newest paintings and drawings with older works including her visual book, The Devil at the Door and her animated short film, Carnival Daring-Do Featuring the Floating Apparitions.  The installation is made up of a variety of different but interconnected works in painting, drawing and mixed media arranged to suggest a visual dialog between the works.

The show runs from March 1 to March 16 with an opening reception held March 1st from 7pm to 9 pm.

Carla Poindexter serves on the art faculty at the University of Central Florida, where she teaches intermediate and advanced painting, advanced drawing, foundations design, experimental book arts and in the MFA program: Studio Art and the Computer.  Her works are in numerous private and public collections throughout the United States and she has exhibited widely in commercial, educational, and public galleries for over 25 years.
